Unboxing. Foliage is compressed in transit and will look flat on arrival. Bend the branches outward from the bottom up and fan the foliage, ten to fifteen minutes per large tree. This is normal, not damage.

Return unused items in their original packaging within the period set out in our Returns policy. Because foliage is shaped by hand after unboxing, a fanned-out tree can still be returned, just repack it carefully.

What arrives in the box, and what do I have to do to it?

Every palm on this site ships compressed, with fronds folded in against the trunk to survive transit, and this one will look thinner out of the box than in its photographs until the fronds are separated and opened out by hand. That takes longer on a palm than on a broadleaf tree, because each frond is a spine of narrow leaflets that need individual attention rather than a handful of large leaves.

Inspect the pot and the trunk before you accept delivery, and photograph anything damaged before you unpack further — shipping is where a piece like this is most likely to take a knock, whether a cracked base, a bent trunk, or a crushed pot.
