Unboxing. Foliage is compressed in transit and will look flat on arrival. Bend the branches outward from the bottom up and fan the foliage, ten to fifteen minutes per large tree. This is normal, not damage.

Return unused items in their original packaging within the period set out in our Returns policy. Because foliage is shaped by hand after unboxing, a fanned-out tree can still be returned, just repack it carefully.

Products are covered against manufacturing defects in construction, trunk mounting and foliage attachment. See our Returns policy for the period. Gradual fading from prolonged direct sun is not covered, including on UV-stabilised items. UV treatment slows fading, it does not stop it.

Measure your ceiling height and subtract at least 30cm so the canopy is not compressed against the ceiling. For a room corner, 1.8m to 2.4m usually reads well.

Product Description

The Canary Island date palm is the stocky, pineapple-trunked palm that lines resort driveways, and this artificial version copies that silhouette with LED lighting fitted. The size in the product name is 3.6 m (11.8 ft); the selector on this page runs from 8 ft (2.5 m) to 18 ft (5.5 m).

Does it come with lights fitted?

Yes - LEDs are built into the tree rather than sold as an accessory. On a palm the lighting sits in the crown and up the trunk, so the effect after dark is uplit rather than decorative-string, which is what makes it work for a hotel forecourt or a poolside.

Can this go outside?

Outdoor use is the primary specification. The build is designed to stand up to weather, and the materials used are chosen for exterior durability. As with any lit exterior product, the power connection needs to be installed to local outdoor electrical requirements.

What makes it different from the other date palms here?

Two things: the trunk profile and the lighting. A Canary Island date palm has a much thicker, shorter trunk with a heavy pineapple-cut crown base than a common date palm, so it reads as squat and established rather than tall and slender. If you want height, one of the other date palms will serve better.
