Benefits & Features

Realistic detailing. Hand-set, multi-tone foliage on a natural or fibreglass-reinforced trunk, built to read as real from across a room.

Low maintenance. No watering, feeding, pruning or repotting. A light dusting every few months is the entire care routine.

Materials. No soil, no pollen and no sap.

Built for commercial use. Sized and specified for lobbies, restaurants, offices and event spaces.

Shipping & Delivery

Made to order. Larger trees are built after your order is confirmed, so allow the lead time set out in our Shipping policy rather than next-day dispatch.

Freight for oversized pieces. Tall trees and multi-unit orders ship by freight and we will arrange a delivery window with you.

Unboxing. Foliage is compressed in transit and will look flat on arrival. Bend the branches outward from the bottom up and fan the foliage, ten to fifteen minutes per large tree. This is normal, not damage.

Returns & Warranty

Return unused items in their original packaging within the period set out in our Returns policy. Because foliage is shaped by hand after unboxing, a fanned-out tree can still be returned, just repack it carefully.

Products are covered against manufacturing defects in construction, trunk mounting and foliage attachment. See our Returns policy for the period. Gradual fading from prolonged direct sun is not covered, including on UV-stabilised items. UV treatment slows fading, it does not stop it.

Sizing Help

Measure your ceiling height and subtract at least 30cm so the canopy is not compressed against the ceiling. For a room corner, 1.8m to 2.4m usually reads well.

For double-height lobbies and atriums, go taller than instinct suggests, because undersized trees disappear in large volumes. Unsure? Send us your dimensions before ordering and we will tell you honestly which size fits.

Product Description

An 83 in (211 cm) faux banana tree with two trunks and 16 large, real-touch variegated leaves — the largest single tree in our range. It occupies a 39 in (99 cm) square footprint, with real-touch foliage and trunks carrying moulded natural bark detail.

A banana tree has the largest leaves most rooms can accommodate, and the reason to choose one is scale: sixteen leaves at this size fill a double-height corner in a way no ficus or olive at the same height will. The dual trunk is what makes it read as a plant rather than a shrub — a real banana clumps, and a single-stem artificial version doesn't capture that.

The dimensions are fully specified, so measure this footprint on your floor before ordering: 39 in long, 39 in wide, 82.75 in high. A metre square is more floor than people expect, and this tree can't be tucked into a corner the way a narrower palm can.

One note on the pot: it ships in an 8 in black plastic pot, which works well as a liner but is undersized as a finished planter for a tree at this height. Plan to pair it with a weighted planter sized to the 39 in footprint — both for the look and for stability.

Artificial banana tree, or a real one?

This tree Live Musa indoors
Light required None Very high. Full sun for most of the day.
Humidity No effect High. Canadian winter interiors are the opposite.
Leaf condition 16 leaves, intact, permanently Leaves shred along the ribs. It is normal and it looks torn.
Height at 211 cm On arrival Achievable, then it outgrows the room
Cost, year one Paid once, at purchase Considerably cheaper to buy
Cost, year five Nothing further Usually replaced, often more than once
Pot 8 in plastic liner. Budget for a real planter. Repotted repeatedly as it grows

A live banana is far cheaper and grows fast in the right room, but it sheds torn leaves along the ribs, needs repotting twice a year, and rarely survives a second Canadian winter indoors. This is a decision about tolerance for mess, not about money.

What arrives in the box, and what do I have to do to it?

Every tree on this site ships compressed. The branches are folded in against the trunk so the box survives transit, and it will come out looking flatter and thinner than the photographs. Opening it out by hand makes the difference between a tree that reads as real and one that reads as a prop: work from the lowest branches upward, pull each stem away from its neighbour, and give the leaves individual angles rather than a uniform fan.

Banana leaves are the largest single components in our range and arrive folded. Expect visible fold lines on every leaf and budget real time to open each one flat by hand from the central rib outward. Warmth helps; a room at 22 °C relaxes the material far faster than a cold garage does.

Plan for two people, both for the unboxing and for standing it up. A 211 cm tree with a metre-wide canopy in an 8 in pot is not stable on its own during handling.

Shipping damage is the most common complaint in this category. Inspect the pot and the trunk before you accept delivery, and photograph anything damaged before you unpack further.

Who should not buy this?

  • Standard 8 ft ceilings. At 83 in the crown sits within a foot of the ceiling and the leaves arch upward. This wants 9 ft or more.
  • Any spot narrower than a metre. The footprint is a fixed 39 in square — the leaves don't fold in.
  • Outdoor or conservatory placement. This piece is built for indoor use.
  • Rooms with pets or small children who pull. Sixteen large leaves at grabbing height on a light pot is a predictable outcome.

Common questions

Is this artificial tree worth it?

It depends on what you're shopping for, and here the size buys scale and leaf count: 16 large real-touch leaves, two trunks, and a metre-square presence. If you're choosing between this and two smaller 7 ft trees, the two trees fill more of a room while this piece dominates one corner more completely. Neither is wrong — they do different jobs.

What does real-touch actually mean?

It describes foliage with a coating over the leaf that gives a soft, slightly waxy feel closer to a living leaf than bare silk or PE. It's an industry-standard descriptive term rather than a precise measurement, and it generally correlates with a matte rather than glossy surface, which is the thing you actually want.

How much floor space does it need?

A metre square, and this is the number most buyers underestimate. The footprint is 39 in by 39 in — tape that out on your floor before ordering. Because the leaves are broad and held on long stalks, they can't be tucked in against a wall the way a palm's fronds or a ficus's branches can; the footprint is fixed.

Do I need to buy a different planter?

We'd recommend it. The included 8 in plastic pot is a liner rather than a finished planter for a 211 cm dual-trunk tree with a metre-wide canopy. Look for a weighted planter around 16 to 18 in in diameter, drop the supplied pot inside it, and pack the gap.

Why Choose This Piece

What separates it from a generic artificial plant

Hand-set foliage

Leaves are layered by hand in varying tones, because real foliage is never one flat shade of green.

Real trunk construction

Natural wood or reinforced fibreglass trunks, depending on the tree.

Built for real conditions

UV-stabilised options are intended for sun, chlorine and salt air, conditions that are hard on living planting. UV treatment slows fading; it does not stop it.

Sized for commercial spaces

Sized and specified for hotel lobbies, restaurants, offices and event spaces.

Frequently Asked Questions

How realistic does this actually look?

From arm's length it is difficult to distinguish from a living tree. The trunk construction and multi-tone hand-set foliage do most of that work. Up close, under direct inspection, you will be able to tell. We would rather say that plainly than overpromise.

What size should I order for my space?

Measure your ceiling height and subtract at least 30cm. For a standard room corner, 1.8m to 2.4m usually reads well. For lobbies and atriums, go taller than instinct suggests, because undersized trees vanish in large volumes. Send us your dimensions and we will advise before you order.

Can I use this outdoors?

Only if it is from our UV-resistant range. Check the product title and tags. Indoor-rated pieces can go under permanent cover, but will fade faster in direct sun. UV stabilisation slows fading substantially; it does not defy physics.

Does it need any maintenance?

No watering, feeding, pruning or repotting. Dust settles on foliage the way it settles on a bookshelf, so a light dusting or gentle wipe every few months keeps it sharp. That is the entire care routine.

Why does it look flat when it arrives?

Foliage is compressed for transit, which is expected, not damage. Starting from the lowest branches and working up, bend each branch outward and fan the foliage until the canopy fills evenly. Large trees take ten to fifteen minutes and it is worth the time.
