Benefits & Features

Realistic detailing. Hand-set, multi-tone foliage on a natural or fibreglass-reinforced trunk, built to read as real from across a room.

Low maintenance. No watering, feeding, pruning or repotting. A light dusting every few months is the entire care routine.

Materials. No soil, no pollen and no sap.

Built for commercial use. Sized and specified for lobbies, restaurants, offices and event spaces.

Shipping & Delivery

Made to order. Larger trees are built after your order is confirmed, so allow the lead time set out in our Shipping policy rather than next-day dispatch.

Freight for oversized pieces. Tall trees and multi-unit orders ship by freight and we will arrange a delivery window with you.

Unboxing. Foliage is compressed in transit and will look flat on arrival. Bend the branches outward from the bottom up and fan the foliage, ten to fifteen minutes per large tree. This is normal, not damage.

Returns & Warranty

Return unused items in their original packaging within the period set out in our Returns policy. Because foliage is shaped by hand after unboxing, a fanned-out tree can still be returned, just repack it carefully.

Products are covered against manufacturing defects in construction, trunk mounting and foliage attachment. See our Returns policy for the period. Gradual fading from prolonged direct sun is not covered, including on UV-stabilised items. UV treatment slows fading, it does not stop it.

Sizing Help

Measure your ceiling height and subtract at least 30cm so the canopy is not compressed against the ceiling. For a room corner, 1.8m to 2.4m usually reads well.

For double-height lobbies and atriums, go taller than instinct suggests, because undersized trees disappear in large volumes. Unsure? Send us your dimensions before ordering and we will tell you honestly which size fits.

Product Description

Short answer: a faux flowering osmanthus, three heights from 120 cm to 180 cm (about 3.9 to 5.9 ft), each height tied to a different bloom colour — red, pink or white. Foliage and flowers are real-touch polyester over a weighted base, and it ships in a sleek black pot. Best suited to indoor or covered outdoor placement, away from direct sun. The limitation worth stating plainly: real osmanthus is famous for its apricot-like fragrance, and this has none.

Osmanthus is a Mediterranean and East Asian shrub grown almost as much for its scent as its small clustered flowers — osmanthus fragrans in particular is named for exactly that. As a floor plant it reads as dense, small-leafed evergreen foliage dotted with tiny blooms rather than one dramatic bloom display, which is a shape that translates reasonably well into an artificial version at the sizes sold here.

The specification here is more useful than most: real-touch polyester for the leaves and flowers, a weighted base designed to prevent tipping in high-traffic areas, and a sleek black pot included and ready to use. Each of the three heights ships in a single, fixed bloom colour rather than a colour you choose independently of size — the 120 cm is red, the 150 cm is pink, and the 180 cm is white. If you want a specific colour, that decision and the height decision are the same decision here.

Care is simple: keep it indoors or under cover, and away from direct sunlight, excessive humidity or rain.

Which osmanthus height and colour should I buy?

Height Bloom colour What it does in the room
120 cm (3.9 ft) Red Compact accent piece, most floor space efficient of the three
150 cm (4.9 ft) Pink The mid-size default for most living rooms
180 cm (5.9 ft) White A near-6 ft statement piece; wants a taller ceiling

Colour is not a free choice across sizes here — picking a height also picks the bloom colour.

Artificial osmanthus, or a real one?

This tree Live osmanthus
Scent None Osmanthus fragrans is grown largely for its apricot-like fragrance
Light required None Full sun to part shade to flower well
Winter outdoors in Canada Nothing to do Not reliably hardy through most Canadian winters outside mild coastal zones
Cost, year five Nothing further Frequently lost over winter and replaced
Stability Weighted base, tip-resistant Depends entirely on the pot you choose

The honest case for the live plant is, again, the fragrance — if the point of osmanthus is the smell drifting through a doorway, no artificial version delivers that. Buy a real one in a container you can move indoors for winter, and accept that most of Canada cannot leave it outside year-round.

What arrives in the box, and what do I have to do to it?

This ships compressed with the branches folded in, and it will look flatter than the photographs until you open the canopy out by hand. The weighted base adds real heft to the box, so budget for a two-person lift on the 180 cm version when moving it from the doorway to its final spot.

Inspect the pot and the base before you accept delivery, and photograph anything damaged before you unpack further.

Who should not buy this?

  • Anyone buying osmanthus for the fragrance. Real osmanthus, especially osmanthus fragrans, is grown largely for its scent. An artificial one has none, and that is the honest limitation on this page.
  • Uncovered outdoor placement in direct sun. Best kept indoors or under cover, away from direct sunlight.
  • Anyone who wants a free choice of bloom colour at every height. Colour is fixed to height on this product — red only at 120 cm, pink only at 150 cm, white only at 180 cm.
  • High humidity or rain exposure. Keep it away from excessive humidity and rain, which rules out an uncovered porch in a wet climate even short of direct sun.

Common questions

Does the artificial osmanthus tree smell like the real flower?

No, and this is worth being direct about. Real osmanthus — osmanthus fragrans in particular — is grown largely for a fragrance often compared to apricots, strong enough to scent a whole porch or garden corner. An artificial tree, at any of the three heights, reproduces the small clustered blooms and the glossy leaf shape but carries no scent whatsoever. If fragrance is the reason you want osmanthus, this product cannot provide it.

Can I put this outside?

Indoor or covered outdoor placement only, away from direct sunlight and away from excessive humidity or rain. A covered porch or a shaded balcony fits well; an open, south-facing patio in a Canadian summer does not, regardless of the weighted base's stability.

Why does the colour change with the size?

That is how this line is put together: the 120 cm version comes only in red, the 150 cm only in pink, and the 180 cm only in white. There is no option to get, say, a white 120 cm tree or a red 180 cm one — the three variants are fixed pairings of height and bloom colour, not independent choices, so decide on colour and height together.

How stable is the base?

It's a weighted base specifically intended to prevent tipping in high-traffic areas, which is a meaningful feature on a tree that reaches 180 cm (about 5.9 ft) at its tallest. Stability against knocks is a stated design goal rather than an incidental feature.

Is real osmanthus hard to grow in Canada?

Outdoors year-round, yes, for most of the country — osmanthus is not reliably winter-hardy through a typical Canadian winter outside the mildest coastal areas, and it needs full sun to part shade to flower and scent well. Most Canadian owners who want a live one grow it in a container and move it somewhere frost-free for winter, which is exactly the kind of seasonal work an artificial tree removes entirely.

Why Choose This Piece

What separates it from a generic artificial plant

Hand-set foliage

Leaves are layered by hand in varying tones, because real foliage is never one flat shade of green.

Real trunk construction

Natural wood or reinforced fibreglass trunks, depending on the tree.

Built for real conditions

UV-stabilised options are intended for sun, chlorine and salt air, conditions that are hard on living planting. UV treatment slows fading; it does not stop it.

Sized for commercial spaces

Sized and specified for hotel lobbies, restaurants, offices and event spaces.

Frequently Asked Questions

How realistic does this actually look?

From arm's length it is difficult to distinguish from a living tree. The trunk construction and multi-tone hand-set foliage do most of that work. Up close, under direct inspection, you will be able to tell. We would rather say that plainly than overpromise.

What size should I order for my space?

Measure your ceiling height and subtract at least 30cm. For a standard room corner, 1.8m to 2.4m usually reads well. For lobbies and atriums, go taller than instinct suggests, because undersized trees vanish in large volumes. Send us your dimensions and we will advise before you order.

Can I use this outdoors?

Only if it is from our UV-resistant range. Check the product title and tags. Indoor-rated pieces can go under permanent cover, but will fade faster in direct sun. UV stabilisation slows fading substantially; it does not defy physics.

Does it need any maintenance?

No watering, feeding, pruning or repotting. Dust settles on foliage the way it settles on a bookshelf, so a light dusting or gentle wipe every few months keeps it sharp. That is the entire care routine.

Why does it look flat when it arrives?

Foliage is compressed for transit, which is expected, not damage. Starting from the lowest branches and working up, bend each branch outward and fan the foliage until the canopy fills evenly. Large trees take ten to fifteen minutes and it is worth the time.
