A live olive cannot survive an uncovered Canadian winter, so outdoors both options have real limits. This one simply asks to be kept out of harsh sun rather than out of the frost.

Every tree on this site ships compressed. The branches are folded in against the trunk so the box survives transit, and it will come out of that box looking flatter and thinner than the photographs. Opening it out by hand is not an optional finishing touch. It is the difference between a tree that reads as real and one that reads as a prop. Work from the lowest branches upward, pull each stem away from its neighbour, and give the leaves individual angles rather than a uniform fan. At 8 ft, a two-person lift is worth planning for when the box arrives: a tree this tall and this heavy in the trunk is awkward for one person to manoeuvre through a doorway safely.
Olive branches are fine and the leaves small, so fluffing this tree well takes longer than a broad-leaf tree of the same height; work the inner branches before the outer ones. How do I look after it?
An occasional wipe with a damp cloth is all it needs. There is no watering, feeding, repotting or winter protection to think about: the tree looks the same in February as it does in July.
