Unboxing. Foliage is compressed in transit and will look flat on arrival. Bend the branches outward from the bottom up and fan the foliage, ten to fifteen minutes per large tree. This is normal, not damage.

Return unused items in their original packaging within the period set out in our Returns policy. Because foliage is shaped by hand after unboxing, a fanned-out tree can still be returned, just repack it carefully.

Products are covered against manufacturing defects in construction, trunk mounting and foliage attachment. See our Returns policy for the period. Gradual fading from prolonged direct sun is not covered, including on UV-stabilised items. UV treatment slows fading, it does not stop it.

Measure your ceiling height and subtract at least 30cm so the canopy is not compressed against the ceiling. For a room corner, 1.8m to 2.4m usually reads well.

A 28 in (71 cm) artificial welcome pine - the sculpted entrance tree of Chinese tradition - supplied already planted in a decorative basin. At that height it is made for a reception counter, an office credenza or a hallway console rather than the floor.

What kind of pot does it come in?

A decorative basin, and which basin is part of the choice you make. Options run from a plain round basin to a black basin and a Taihu Lake stone-style basin, each paired with either Milan or cypress foliage.

Where does this work best?

Entrances, which is what a welcome pine is for. The 28 in height clears a counter without blocking sightlines, so it turns up on hotel front desks and office reception units far more often than in living rooms.

Is it safe around children and pets?

There is no soil to tip out and no sap or pollen, which is the usual reason a real potted plant gets moved out of a public lobby. It is still a weighted object on a raised surface, so set it back from the counter edge.
