Unboxing. Foliage is compressed in transit and will look flat on arrival. Bend the branches outward from the bottom up and fan the foliage, ten to fifteen minutes per large tree. This is normal, not damage.

Return unused items in their original packaging within the period set out in our Returns policy. Because foliage is shaped by hand after unboxing, a fanned-out tree can still be returned, just repack it carefully.

Products are covered against manufacturing defects in construction, trunk mounting and foliage attachment. See our Returns policy for the period. Gradual fading from prolonged direct sun is not covered, including on UV-stabilised items. UV treatment slows fading, it does not stop it.

Measure your ceiling height and subtract at least 30cm so the canopy is not compressed against the ceiling. For a room corner, 1.8m to 2.4m usually reads well.

Product Description

The artificial Brazilian ironwood is a compact foliage plant in three heights, 4.3 ft (130 cm), 4.8 ft (145 cm) and 5.9 ft (180 cm), with a choice of white-edged or red-edged leaves. The edging is the whole design decision: white reads cool and graphic, red reads warm and tropical.

What colours can I get?

Two leaf variegations, white edge and red edge, each available in all three heights. Specifying a pair in different edgings is a cheap way to give two similar rooms distinct identities.

What is the foliage made of?

PU and PVC, which is a step up from plain moulded plastic. Polyurethane holds fine detail such as leaf veining and midrib relief, so the surface reads better under close light than a single-material leaf.

Can this go outside?

Yes. It is UV-resistant and rated for indoor and outdoor placement, so gardens, balconies and covered terraces all suit it as well as interiors.

How tall is it, really?

130, 145 or 180 cm. All three are below standing eye level, so this is a plant that furnishes a corner or flanks a doorway rather than one that fills a room.

From arm's length it is difficult to distinguish from a living tree. The trunk construction and multi-tone hand-set foliage do most of that work. Up close, under direct inspection, you will be able to tell. We would rather say that plainly than overpromise.
