Unboxing. Foliage is compressed in transit and will look flat on arrival. Bend the branches outward from the bottom up and fan the foliage, ten to fifteen minutes per large tree. This is normal, not damage.

Return unused items in their original packaging within the period set out in our Returns policy. Because foliage is shaped by hand after unboxing, a fanned-out tree can still be returned, just repack it carefully.

Products are covered against manufacturing defects in construction, trunk mounting and foliage attachment. See our Returns policy for the period. Gradual fading from prolonged direct sun is not covered, including on UV-stabilised items. UV treatment slows fading, it does not stop it.

Measure your ceiling height and subtract at least 30cm so the canopy is not compressed against the ceiling. For a room corner, 1.8m to 2.4m usually reads well.

Product Description

Washingtonia is the tall, thin-trunked fan palm that lines Californian boulevards, and this artificial Washingtonia carries that shape up to 21 ft (6.5 m) - the tallest listed size anywhere in this range. Fiberglass and PE construction, specified for outdoor and indoor placement.

How tall does it go?

Seven sizes from 11.5 ft (3.5 m) to 21 ft (6.5 m). Note the range starts higher than the other palms here: there is no 2.5 m option, because a short Washingtonia does not look like a Washingtonia. The species is defined by a slender trunk running well clear of the crown.

Can this go outside?

Outdoor decorative use is the primary specification. Fiberglass and PE are both non-absorbent, so the tree handles rain and seasonal temperature swings without the fronds decaying or the trunk softening. At 6.5 m the base must be fixed or ballasted.

Where does this work best?

Driveways, forecourts, poolsides, hotel entrances and restaurant terraces - anywhere the job is height rather than canopy. A pair flanking an entrance does more with a Washingtonia than with any other palm here, because the bare trunk keeps the sightline open at eye level.
