Unboxing. Foliage is compressed in transit and will look flat on arrival. Bend the branches outward from the bottom up and fan the foliage, ten to fifteen minutes per large tree. This is normal, not damage.

Return unused items in their original packaging within the period set out in our Returns policy. Because foliage is shaped by hand after unboxing, a fanned-out tree can still be returned, just repack it carefully.

Products are covered against manufacturing defects in construction, trunk mounting and foliage attachment. See our Returns policy for the period. Gradual fading from prolonged direct sun is not covered, including on UV-stabilised items. UV treatment slows fading, it does not stop it.

Measure your ceiling height and subtract at least 30cm so the canopy is not compressed against the ceiling. For a room corner, 1.8m to 2.4m usually reads well.

Product Description

At 2.5 m (8.2 ft) this faux olive is well past bonsai scale despite the name, built from PE plastic and silk cloth with a trunk finished to the colour and texture of real wood. It arrives in a PP plastic pot weighted with black mud.

What kind of pot does it come in?

A PP plastic flowerpot filled with black mud, and the mud is there for ballast rather than decoration. That weight is what keeps a 2.5 m tree upright without staking, and it is also why the delivered piece is heavier than it looks.

Can this go outside?

Only with UV protection - that's a firm condition, not a suggestion. Indoors it needs nothing; outdoors, PE foliage and silk cloth will both fade without a UV treatment or a shaded position, so plan for one or the other.

Will it look real up close?

The soft-touch PE leaves respond correctly to the hand and the trunk finish is convincing at a metre. Silk cloth elements are the weak point at very close range - fabric edges do not behave the way a real olive leaf does.
