Unboxing. Foliage is compressed in transit and will look flat on arrival. Bend the branches outward from the bottom up and fan the foliage, ten to fifteen minutes per large tree. This is normal, not damage.

Return unused items in their original packaging within the period set out in our Returns policy. Because foliage is shaped by hand after unboxing, a fanned-out tree can still be returned, just repack it carefully.

Products are covered against manufacturing defects in construction, trunk mounting and foliage attachment. See our Returns policy for the period. Gradual fading from prolonged direct sun is not covered, including on UV-stabilised items. UV treatment slows fading, it does not stop it.

Measure your ceiling height and subtract at least 30cm so the canopy is not compressed against the ceiling. For a room corner, 1.8m to 2.4m usually reads well.

Product Description

Black olive - the tropical shade tree, not the fruit - has fine tiered foliage and a sculptural trunk, and this handmade artificial version stands 7 ft (2.13 m). The trunk combines fiberglass, metal and wood. It is a room-scale accent rather than a lobby specimen.

What is the trunk made of?

Three materials working together: a metal armature for strength, fiberglass for the moulded form, and wood for surface texture and weight. That mix is why the trunk holds an irregular, hand-finished shape instead of the smooth symmetry of a single moulding.

Will it look real up close?

Closer than most. It is handmade, so the branch angles vary rather than repeating, and the trunk texture is genuinely tactile. At arm's length under bright light you will still identify the foliage as artificial - that is true of every faux tree at this price, and we would rather say so.

Where does this work best?

Seven feet is the height that fits a normal room. It suits a hotel suite, a restaurant corner, a residential living room or a staged property, and unlike the 4 m specimens in this range it will go through a standard doorway.
